Aviogei delivers the equipment for the F-35 Lightning II

Aviogei, based in Aprilia (Latina), delivered the first self-propelled crane (crane) for lifting and maintenance of the F-35 Lightning II. The crane it will be used to remove and install aircraft components during maintenance operations at sea and on land, ensuring the full operation of the F-35.

Aviogei was chosen by Lockheed Martin to design and manufacture the lifting cranes based on a selection based on manufacturing excellence and best value. Another 54 suppliers from all over Italy contribute parts and materials for the crane.

THEheavyweight crane for the F-35 it is able to lift more than 4.500 pounds, roughly the weight of five cars. The cranes will be used on board the F-35B aircraft carrier aircraft to carry out repairs at sea. The crane it is also able to lift the F-35B's lifting fans over the aircraft for removal and installation in a confined space.
