The AIRTEC2016 (International Aerospace Supply Fair) exhibition ended in Munich, where AERO-ENGINEERING (www.aero-engineering.eu) participated as an exhibitor and as a leading actor in the conference spaces of B2B meeting. The themes of innovation and technology that have always characterized the needs of the supply chain of the aeronautical and aerospace sector have been treated. Technology has been at the center of the 2016 edition: materials development, software, security systems, identification and traceability solutions.

AIRTEC's congress part was divided into five high-level international symposia where experts from science, R&D and industry met and discussed the latest developments and trends. In the tradition of recent years, the 11th International Congress offered technology decision makers from all over the world an ideal forum to communicate throughout the aerospace supply chain.

At AIRTEC2016, contributing to the achievement of innovation objectives in the field of permanent identification and traceability, AERO-ENGINEERING presented the Metalphoto® technology which, combined with the profound experience and expertise of its corporate structure, was a topic of comparison as well as a cutting-edge technological solution presented to all visitors.

In the OPERATION symposium, Aero-Engineering presented the topic: "Identification and traceability - MIL-STD-130 and STANAG 2290".

“Traceability is the ability to verify the origin and evolution of a product through coded identifications (Barcode and / or Data Matrix). In the aerospace, aeronautics and defense industries, maximum reliability in component identification (via Barcode and / or Data Matrix) is essential to prevent errors and counterfeits, guaranteeing immediate traceability of products and equipment. The MIL-STD-130 specification was developed with the intention of specifying the technical requirements and standard practices for the marking, identification and traceability of assets owned by the US Department of Defense. It is also known as UID Standards, as it describes the features and format of the datamatrix UID (Upicnic IDentifier). The data matrix is encoded with elements to construct a UII (Upicnic Ihas Identifer) that is unique. The STANAG 2290 standard, addressed to NATO nations, provides indications on how to develop a standard for the unambiguous identification of assets, characterizing both the codes UII (Upicnic Ihas Identifier) that the marking of objects with UII.

These specifications (as for many others in the aeronautical and aerospace fields) are fully met by Metalphoto® technology.

Metalphoto® is a photo-impressioning system on photosensitive anodized aluminum, used to make tags, labels and control panels that require high durability.

The durability characteristics of Metalphoto® are due to the impression of the image inside the anodised aluminum, making it resistant to corrosion, sunlight, abrasion, chemical exposure and extreme temperatures, thermal shocks and all the atmospheric events that can affect its quality and resolution.

In addition to the aesthetic advantages of the very high photographic resolution, this feature allows Metalphoto® to produce high resolution labels even for small objects or small surfaces, where the application of a label is as important as it is difficult.
The Metalphoto® technology differs from screen printing because the variable "information", including images with serial data such as instructions and barcodes / optical readout datamatrix, are managed at the substrate level, where the impression of the image really takes place.

The product made with the Metalphoto® system can be read in any operating condition, ensuring a low replacement frequency and thus guaranteeing identification and long-term traceability ".
