There is much excitement in Dubai for the aeronautical show that opened its doors yesterday. In these hours, the Russians would offer to Algeria and Egypt the "President-S", an air defense system currently installed on the Ka-52 and Mi-28 assault helicopters.
The President-S (ODS) - as stated by Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies at the Ria Novosti - would guarantee the first integrated defense system for civilian and military airplanes in Algeria and Egypt. The system allows the automatic detection of a rocket launched in the vicinity and initiates passive and active interferences to interrupt the vector pointing system. The ODS system can be placed inside a cell or fuselage both on helicopters and on fixed wing aircraft.
