AgustaWestland has been awarded by the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense the contract for the integration of the Future Anti-Surface Guided Weapon (FASGW) missile on the 28 helicopters AW159 of the British navy.
The contract, worth 113 million (90 million pounds), includes the integration, testing and installation of two different air-to-surface missile systems, the MBDA FASGW (H) / ANL respectively and the LMM of Thales. The UK Ministry of Defense is introducing 28 AW159 helicopters for the navy and 34 for the army on duty, for a total of 62 helicopters in order to replace the Lynx helicopters currently in service.
