The UK Ministry of Defense has signed a contract worth over 400 million strerlines with MBDA for the development of the SPEAR precision air / surface missile.

The SPEAR missile was developed to meet British precision requirements related to the F-35, with the option (optionally) to extend them to the Typhoons.

SPEAR will have to engage long-range, mobile, fleeting and relocalizable targets in any weather, day or night and in the presence of countermeasures and camouflage.
