Boeing is expanding the US Navy's maritime patrol capabilities with the delivery of the 14th P-8A Poseidon. Another seven will be delivered within the year.
Based on the Next-Generation 737-800 commercial aircraft, the P-8A offers anti-submarine, anti-ship, intelligence and surveillance capabilities.
The US Navy plans to purchase the aircraft to replace the P-3 Orion fleet.
The contract, for now, includes 53 P-8A.
