The "ARGO 2022" exercise, conducted by the departments dependent on the Genius command. Various specialist components of the genius took part in the training activity, and their interoperability was tested.
In particular, the 2nd Engineer Brigade Regiment of Piacenza, the Railway Engineers Regiment of Castel Maggiore and the Training Battalion, all units dependent on the Engineers Brigade, together with the personnel of the 8th Engineers Regiment of Legnago and the 6th Regiment of the Engineers of 'French Army.
The first phase of the exercise, conducted by the engineers of Castel Maggiore, made it possible to verify the ability to conduct all the different types of railway activities in the management of the airport: from rail freight transport, to the maneuvering of railway wagons, from the management of circulation, maintenance, even extraordinary, of the railway infrastructure, the enhancement of the load / unload capacity of the node through the construction of a modular metal loader floor aimed at loading military vehicles on a railway train that has moved from the headquarters of Dinazzano Po (RE) in Piacenza.
Subsequently, at the "Scalo Po" training area, the Picentine bridges, together with the French ones of the 6th Engineer Regiment, who had the task of increasing their skills both in overcoming road interruptions and in crossing a course of water (river crossing), built a military logistic bridge, with recently acquired JPB (Janson Panel Bridging) bridge material and a ferry with PGM (Motorized Floating Bridge) bridge material, over which the Medium Multi-role Tactical Vehicle (VTMM) “Bear” with roller mines, one of the heaviest armored vehicles of the new generation.
Finally, the sappers of the 8th regiment carried out a route clereance operation with the support of the operators of the training battalion.
