Safe Streets: large quantity of drugs seized at the "Tiburtina" underground station in Rome

Last Friday, at the Rome-Tiburtina railway junction, a military patrol of the 185th "Folgore" parachute regiment, effective at the "Lazio, Umbria and Abruzzo" group, headed by the "Granatieri di Sardegna" brigade, in service in the within the scope of the "Safe Roads" Operation and in joint activity with the railway police, it was notified by a passer-by of the presence of an abandoned luggage on the platform of a railway station railway.

The Army soldiers and the police officer on duty arrived at the scene and inspected the bag, finding inside it a large quantity of substances which later turned out to be drugs.

The investigations, continued in the offices of the railway police located inside the station, in fact confirmed that, presumably, it was marijuana for a total weight of about 4 kg.
