New Chief of Staff at Joint Force Command Naples

In recent days, at the Allied Joint Force Command of Lago Patria in Naples, Giugliano in Campania (NA), the corps general Antonio Vittiglio assumed the position of chief of staff and the title of head of the Command Element of the 'European Union.

Moreover, from September of the 2018 to the 02 September of the 2019, he held the position of deputy commander at the NATO Command in Istanbul in Turkey (Born Rapid Deployable Corps - Turkey) where he took part in the preparation and future validation both of the Body Command Turkish army and both of his brigade VJTF (L), taking part in the planning and preparation for the certification for the NRF-L (Born Response Force Land) 2020 and in the process for the achievement in the 2021 of the FOC (Full Operational Capability) for the new structure of NATO's Turkish Command.

The senior officer has in his professional background various operational experiences abroad and in Italy, where he held prestigious positions of staff and command in joint forces also in multinational contexts. General Vittiglio was the first commander of the reconstituted "Acqui" division with the dependence of the 5 operational brigades of southern Italy and the islands (the "Granatieri di Sardegna", "Aosta", "Pinerolo", "Sassari" and "Garibaldi ").

General Vittiglio will lead the staff of JFC Naples, in order to best interpret the spirit of the Alliance, following the guidelines of the commander of JFC NAPLE, Admiral Foggo, on Collective Defense, Crisis Management and Cooperative Security - with a proportionate approach , not "escalatory", but determined - in defending territory, population and Euro-Atlantic values.
