On Wednesday 3 April, at the Simulation and Validation Center of the Army of Civitavecchia (Ce.Si.Va.), "Media-Day" took place entitled "Simulators for the soldier of the future".
The objective of the meeting with the specialized press in the field of "virtual training" was to introduce the training reality of Ce.Si.Va., to present the innovations related to the development and experimentation of command and control systems and to focus the attention on the progressive digitalization of the Army in the context of the Defense program, called Forza NEC (Network Enabled Capability), a project able to speed up the exchange of data and information coming from the area of operations, and provide the commander with a drive the ability to decide faster.
The Army Simulation and Validation Center is the main reference for the application of training simulation in the preparation of command posts for units intended for use outside the national territory, focusing its activities on the organization of exercises aimed at attesting the achievement of "fundamental" operational capabilities for the fulfillment of the mission, using technologically advanced computer simulation and command and control systems.
But at Ce.Si.Va. it was also assigned the responsibility of testing the integrated systems for land training, simulation and command and control, in function of the modernization of the sector, as well as the systems for digitizing the battlefield in the context of the wider program of the Defense called "Forza NEC" (Network Enabled Capability).
The works of the "Media day" opened with a welcome greeting from the commander of the Center, gen. D. Roberto D'Alessandro, who was followed by the intervention of gen. B. Manlio Scopigno aimed at highlighting the mission, tasks and future prospects of Ce.Si.Va ..
The meeting with the press continued with the presentations of the Head of the Experimentation Office, col. Raffaele Schena and the Head of Experimentation Section, the ten. with the. Roberto Mozzicato. The col. Schena, by general lines, illustrated the Forza NEC program, while the ten. with the. Mozzicato focused on the ITB of the Armed Forces and on the development of the 1 ^ Operational Integration Session (SIO) of the 2019 in progress at Ce.Si.Va ..
The day finally ended with a visit to the premises of the Integration Test Bed (ITB), where the integrated systems for land training, simulation and command and control are studied and tested.
