On 20 January 2020, at the "Francesco Baracca" military airport of Casarsa della Delizia, a joint training was held between the helicopter pilots of the 5th AVES "Rigel" regiment and the operators of the Speleo Alpino Fluviale Nucleo of the Fire Brigade of Pordenone . The activity was carried out with a view to consolidating the collaboration between the cooperating organizations within the National Air Emergency Response Plan (PIAN) and in anticipation of any emergency situations which, as already happened in the recent past, may involve in jointly the respective rescue arrangements of the Army and the Fire Brigade.
The training was aimed at mutual knowledge of the capabilities and systems available to the two organizations and allowed the operators of the Fire Brigade to familiarize themselves with the safety procedures of the UH-205 and UH-90 helicopters belonging to the "Friuli" aircraft brigade with regard to boarding and disembarkation techniques and to the rescue winch operations of both aircraft.
