With the delivery of the individual certificates, the Advanced Mountaineering Course organized and led by the "Julia" alpine brigade on behalf of its staff.

The four-week course saw 21 Alpine troops belonging to all the regiments of the Brigade try their hand at perfecting mountaineering techniques, both on rock and on glaciers.

The training, carried out under the supervision of highly qualified instructors and in full compliance with the provisions regarding the containment of the epidemiological emergency from COVID - 19, saw the Alpine troops of the Army engaged in both Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia.

On the Venetian Dolomites, the Alpine troops have developed their ability to move and survive in the Arctic environment, while on the cliffs of Val Rosandra they have refined and increased their skills as climbers.

During the activity, the students deepened the technical level already reached with the Basic Mountaineering Course learning the movements as a leader of the rope, they also learned new self-rescue maneuvers such as the various types of hoists and learned to use advanced maneuvers such as reducing the friction angle and setting up the double rope.

At the end of the three weeks of the rock phase, the students are able to walk and equip the mountaineering routes, the point of arrival to be able to participate in the selections to become mountaineering instructors.

Training in the mountains represents one of the main phases of the specialized training of their personnel for the Alpine troops of the Army.
The specific capabilities that are acquired are in fact fundamental not only in the context of the numerous international operations in which the Army operates, but also in the homeland when called upon to intervene with specialized structures to support the civilian population hit by public disasters.
