It ended in recent days, in Naples, the headquarters of NATO joint force commander, the phase of planning and development of the order of operation of the Italian division inserted in one of the most important exercise activities of the year 2021, the NATO "STEADFAST LEDA 2021", in which the Alpine Army troops participate with command personnel, of the division Tridentine and dependent brigades.
During the fifteen days of activity and thanks to the collaboration with NATO joint force command of Naples, which made available the joint operational planning group area, the personnel exercised was called upon to provide their contribution for the planning activities aimed at drafting the order of operation of the Italian division, which constitutes the maneuvering unit in the more general scheme of a Major Joint Operation plus which the Atlantic Alliance could be involved in.
The activity carried out followed the preparation phase that took place in Bolzano at the Alpine troop command with the activation of a seminar on operational planning conducted by a mobile training team of the NATO School of Oberammergau, a seminar that aimed to be able to operate better in view of the multinational exercise to be conducted in Europe under NATO aegis.
The activity represented a training moment of great importance, of professional growth and allowed the personnel of the "Tridentina" Division and the Alpine brigades to improve the internal operating procedures, optimize the composition and articulation of the command post, train in use of command and control systems, increase the ability to apply NATO operational planning processes to combat scenarios with the aim of consolidating Allied readiness and interoperability in responding to any aggression against European nations.
