Doing good to those who do it daily and at the moment are at the forefront of the fight against Coronavirus. This is the purpose of the solidarity competition launched a few days ago in the context of the aircraft brigade and its departments. In this moment of great emergency crisis, in fact, even "Friuli", as an integral part of a country-system and a community, wanted to demonstrate its proximity to the city of Bologna and Emilia Romagna by devoting a sum of money to protection Civil in the context of fundraising combined with the "Together you can" initiative. With this project, the Emilia-Romagna region has promoted the possibility of contributing to the management of the health emergency by allowing anyone to make a donation in support of regional health which, together with civil protection, is carrying out an extraordinary job in treating people and in curbing the spread of the pandemic.
The fundraising, on a strictly voluntary basis, saw the participation of men and women from the "Friuli" Aircraft Brigade Command, 66th Aircraft Infantry Regiment "Trieste", 5th AVES Regiment "Rigel", 7th AVES "Vega" Regiment , the “Friuli” command and tactical support department and the Foce Reno Military Polygon. The initiative allowed, in one week, to collect the sum of 10.420 euros which will be used for the purchase of individual protective devices, allowing the health service and its operators to continue to contribute, together with other institutions, to the contrast and containment of Covid-19.
Today, the commander of the "Friuli" aircraft brigade, Brigadier General Stefano Lagorio, in the presence of the governor of the Emilia Romagna Region, Stefano Bonaccini, first promoter of the "Together you can" initiative, handed over the sum collected, in the hands of the doctor. Rita Nicolini, interim director of the Regional Agency for Territorial Security and Civil Protection demonstrating the proximity and support of the Army to all Italian citizens with the hope that this small act will further enhance and consolidate the true meaning community and social solidarity.
The Army, from the first moment on the front line in the action to combat Coronavirus, is proving more and more every day an institution close to the citizen and useful to the country in various forms, contributing decisively and generously to the fight against the pandemic. In particular, the aircraft brigade "Friuli", in close coordination with the command for operational forces north of Padua, thanks to the structure at its disposal, contributes to providing support characterized by a high technological content and specialization, which is accompanied by the territorial control service as part of the "Safe Roads" operation, which in this particular juncture it was extended to the verification of regional ordinances and government decrees for the safety of citizens.
A wide-ranging use, the one resulting from the coronavirus emergency, which joins the traditional tasks, which see the soldiers of the "Friuli" operate at home also within the Piacenza RSAs and abroad, for the defense of the European spaces. Atlantic and Euro-Mediterranean and for the realization of international peace and security.
