This morning the Italian Army, represented by the Musical Band of the "Folgore" Paratrooper Brigade, visited the young guests of the "Meyer" Pediatric Hospital in Florence.

The initiative, aimed at transmitting, through music, a message of solidarity from the Armed Force to the children and their parents, aroused great interest and curiosity from all present.

The concert, which began with the National Anthem, was held at the Serra Hall of the Hospital from which, thanks to the particular sound system of the room, it was possible to hear the pleasant melody of each song even from the hospital rooms, located in the upper floors.

Subsequently, some groups of musicians making up the Folgore band, performed directly in the wards that host the young patients, making them listen to a musical repertoire including the most famous cartoon songs, including "Michey Mouse march", "Mary Poppins "," The Lion King "," The Pink Panther "," Ufo robot "," The two unicorns ".

The Band of the Paratrooper Brigade "Folgore", established in the 1980, is organically framed in the Parachuting Training Center of Pisa and is directed by the First Marshal Lieutenant Giuseppe Guggino. The Band of the "Folgore", in addition to participating in multiple military ceremonies, carries out an intense concert activity throughout the national territory, also performing songs that are rooted in the musical traditions of the Italian regions. The complex has a staff of over twenty-five musicians and is formed by military paratroopers who perform, in addition to the musical tests, the normal training tasks of each paratrooper: from combat training to aviation activities.
