The paratroopers of the Italian contingent in Kosovo, engaged in the NATO “Joint Enterprise” mission, celebrated their specialty at the Piazzale in Armi in Villaggio Italia, honoring their beloved anniversary. The battle of El Alamain, whose 79th anniversary was celebrated, represents an event of the highest value for all paratroopers, it constitutes an example and a warning to all of love for the country and a sense of duty. Even today the deeds of those who fought heroically in those fiery African sands arouse deep emotion and unconditional admiration. History will never forget the value of Leoni of thunderbolt who sacrificed themselves to defend the values ​​of the homeland.

The paratroopers of the contingent come from the command of the parachute brigade thunderbolt of Livorno, from Parachuting Training Center of Pisa, from the 185 ° parachute artillery regiment thunderbolt of Bracciano, from the 183 ° parachute regiment nimbus of Pistoia, from the 3rd regiment Savoy Cavalry of Grosseto, by the logistic regiment thunderbolt of Pisa and from the 185 ° parachute regiment reconnaissance and acquisition of objectives thunderbolt of Livorno.

Currently, the paratroopers of the Italian contingent are holding fundamental positions, from staff positions in cells, to health personnel, from operators for special operations, to logistics specialists, to personnel of the maneuvering force. All soldiers who, with their work, ensure the fulfillment of the mission's task according to the dictates of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999, in order to guarantee a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all communities living in Kosovo.
