The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Qatar, Khalid Mohamed Al Attyiah, visited the units of the Army Aviation and the Qatari personnel in training at the 1st AVES “Antares” regiment, at the “Fabbri” airport.

The authority and its collaborators arrived in Viterbo aboard the NH-90 helicopters conducted by the Qatari personnel, trained by AVES, and by the instructors of the Specialty. The delegation, welcomed by the division general Andrea Di Stasio, commander of the Army Aviation, and by the representatives of the company Leonardo Helicopters, had the opportunity to meet his compatriots engaged in training on the NH90 flight platform.

In his welcome address, General Di Stasio stressed that the partnership between industry and the Armed Forces is aimed at achieving and achieving the objectives indicated by the Defense.

"With the training and qualification of over ten crews and more than 2.000 hours of flight on the machine, the blue specialty has guaranteed the Qatar Emiri Air Force (QAEF) a training opportunity to achieve high standards of flight and maintenance" - said the commander of the AVES.

On the occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister of Qatar presented his staff with the NVG (Night Vision Goggles) qualification diplomas, obtained as part of the training process with the Army Aviation.

The meeting continued with the demonstration of a tactical act conducted by an NH-90 helicopter (with a "mixed" Italian and Qatari crew), which released personnel using the fast rope, and from a CH47F that recovered the military using the "cluster" technique; operational episodes that require high specialization.

The visit ended with the signing of the Roll of Honor by Deputy Prime Minister Al Attyiah.
