At the "Predieri" barracks in Florence, the ceremony for the change in command of the "Vittorio Veneto" division between the general of division Michele Risi, transferor, and the Parisian Massimiliano Quarto, who took over, took place in the presence of the commander of COMFOTER - COE, Army Corps General Giovanni Fungo, the local civil authorities and the Combatant and Armed Associations.
General Risi thanked the personnel of the division for their commitment, professionalism and passion with which they faced the national and international operational and training commitments in which the unit took part. The "Vittorio Veneto" is engaged in the process of reconfiguration in a multinational key and acquisition of capabilities aimed at satisfying the three "core tasks" of the Atlantic Alliance, namely collective defense and deterrence, crisis prevention and management and cooperative security .
This path will see the "Vittorio Veneto" division engaged in November 2023 with the Command Post Exercise "Citadel Bonus" and, during 2024, with the "Loyal Leda", exercises in which the MND-S will cover the role of division command employed by an army corps under French leadership in training.
General Fungo, in his address, highlighted the commitment of all the men and women of the division command, expressing his deep appreciation for the results achieved.
