Brigadier General Claudio Rondano, sub-chief of the major state support for the command of the terrestrial operational forces, presided over the event in which the main civil and military authorities and numerous family members participated, bearing witness to the proximity of the Novara institutions to the regiment.
During the ceremony, the mayor of Bellinzago Novarese, Dr. Mariella Bovio, conferred the honorary citizenship of the municipality of Novara to the 1 transport regiment, as recognition for the meritorious work and great impetus in the activities conducted by women and men of regiment during out-of-area operations. General Rondano, wished to express his gratitude to the municipal administration of Bellinzago for the important recognition granted to the regiment, testifying to the synergy between the military community and the territory.
The high official expressed his personal applause for the professionalism expressed by the men and women of the contingent, for having shown great attention and sensitivity in dealing with the population and the Lebanese military and civil authorities, as evidenced by the prestigious certificates of an estimate received from the local administrations of the southern Lebanese territory who, during the mission just completed, wanted to give the regiment the honorary citizenship of six municipalities.
