In recent days, 1487 Volunteers in One Year Fixed, belonging to the 2nd bracket of the 1st Block 2021, who attended the initial training course, took an oath of loyalty to the Italian Republic at the volunteer training regiments of Verona, Capua, Cassino and Ascoli Piceno.
In the presence of the War Flag of the respective regiments and in the presence of the commander of the Infantry School, Brigadier General Eugenio Dessì, military, civil and religious authorities, as well as the representatives of the Combat and Weapon Associations, the Volunteers shouted "Lo I swear!" and sang the hymn of Mameli.
The presence of the family members of the jurands, who came from all over Italy to share the most significant moment in a soldier's life with their loved ones, gave the event greater solemnity and emotional participation.
"You will be asked to acquire unique skills that represent a specificity that distinguishes in the world of work, because it is always and unconditionally addressed to the good of the community, both for the defense of the homeland and its institutions and for what it represents, i.e. solid foundations on which the nation can always count ", with these words the commander of the Infantry School, Brigadier General Eugenio Dessì, addressed the young Volunteers.
During the ceremonies, the sacrifice of the corporal Renato Zanardo, decorated with the Gold Medal for Military Valor, was remembered.
On 24 May, at the end of the six-week course, i Volunteers in One Year Fixed of the 2nd bracket of the 1st Block 2021 will reach the units of the Armed Force located throughout the national territory for the completion of the stop.
