During the event some awards were given including a solemn commendation to the major corporal Matteo Barbieri, of the 2 ° Alpine transmission regiment of Bolzano.
At the end of the ceremony, the commander of the terrestrial operational forces, accompanied by the army corps general Adriano Vieceli, commander of the command and transmission command army (CO.TIE) and by the brigadier general Lorenzo Santella, inspector of the transmission weapon and school commander, attended the final phase of the exercise called "Marconi 2014", during which he was able to verify the effectiveness of the automated command and control system (SIACCON 2) and of the Cyber Defense components, Electronic Warfare (EW) and Reconnissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition (RSTA).
The high official, in the address he wished to address to those present, underlined the importance of communications in modern operating theaters, emphasizing the role played by the broadcasting units in ensuring support for the command and control function and of communication and has finally expressed its praise to the transmitters who daily carry out their work impeccably, both in Italy and in theaters operating abroad.
