The training in helicopter transport of the 105/14 howitzer supplied by the artillerymen of the 1st land artillery regiment of Fossano took place at the headquarters of the 34th squadron group of the "Toro" Army Aviation. The activity saw the regimental teams - equipped in full operational order - train themselves in the complex and delicate procedures of helicopter transport, coordinating and managing the approach of the aircraft and the subsequent safe coupling and transport of the howitzer.

This type of operation is not new for the gunners of the "Taurinense" alpine brigade, who make flexibility of deployment and speed of deployment their strong point. The 1st regiment operates in fact on three different artillery lines, two of which can be transported.

Alongside the FH70 howitzer, a long-range weapon system, which can be used in contexts other than mountain ones, and the 120mm Thompson mortar, the 105/14 howitzer has recently been reintroduced into service, able to guarantee the characteristics of flexibility. and easy handling typical of Alpine Troops.

105/14 will be the protagonist of the "White Fox" exercise, scheduled from 9 to 12 March in the Olympic valleys of the Upper Susa Valley as part of the Alpine Troops Ski Championships.
