The Shaping Armor 24, an important exercise aimed at improving the level of interoperability and integration between the units of the NATO contingents employed in the operation enhanced Vigilance Activity in Bulgaria.
For the first time, the activity saw Italian units deployed on the ground at the same time on "Ariete" combat tanks, "Blindo Centauro", "Dardo" armored vehicles and PZH self-propelled howitzers alongside the T-72 tanks, 2S1 howitzers Gvozdika and the Bulgarian Multi-purpose vehicles (MT-LB).
All projects Shaping Armour About 150 soldiers took part battle group, including an Albanian platoon on HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle).
Within the initiative Forward Land Forces of NATO, Italy, from October 2022, plays the role of Framework Nation and is present with a force of approximately 750 units, placing it among the main contributing nations.
