International Horse Show in Piazza di Siena

23/05/14

Once again the army participates in the International Horse Show in Piazza di Siena (82 CSIO). On the first day of yesterday, the Lancers of Montebello performed, spectacular and exciting as always, with their renowned carousel of spears.

To open the show was the fanfare that, commanded by sergeant major Salvatore Pinci, played famous pieces such as Amazing Grace, the ancient March by F. Creux, and others.

Captain Paolo Mezzanotte, with his mastery, then led the Lancieri in their famous historical steps, from the jump with crossed spears to the involving charge.

A unique emotion to be able to follow closely - in this regard, special thanks to the availability of army personnel who allowed me to be able to admire and photograph them at close range.

At the end of the show the fanfare played the anthem of Mameli while the Italian flag was raised by the lancers.

A recognition award was presented to Captain Midnight.

Today the army won the silver medal: the major corporal chosen Roberto Cristofoletti on Flavouart Amico Mio ranked second in the CSIO 5 Award (h.150), with a clear path over time for 58 ”22 .

The knight received the colonel army award Max André Barbacini, deputy sports commissioner of the FISE.

With the excellent placement achieved in today's test, there is a good chance that the Armed Forces will participate in the Grand Prix City of Rome next Sunday.
