Training for 34 new CIMIC assistants completed

The practical phase of the CIMIC coadjutor course, organized from 13 to 24 July 2020 by the Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG), ended in recent days in compliance with the restrictions provided for the containment of the CoViD-19.

Following a selection process, the staff of the volunteer category (both in permanent service and in firm pre-arranged) of the regiment is trained and trained to support the figure of CIMIC operators in order to contribute to the achievement of the assigned tasks, through the development the main functions of civil-military cooperation and the understanding of the complex dynamics of the operational contexts in which the Multinational CIMIC Group is employed.

The multiple employment scenarios present, in fact, increasingly complex and heterogeneous situations, which imply the need to have trained and specialized men and women, staff who know, for example, the Lebanese cultural sites, who are aware of the economic structure -Policy of Somalia, which has in its heritage the historical processes that led to the birth of Kosovo and the intercultural diversity of Djibouti.

After an initial phase of theoretical lessons, lasting a week, on effective communication, on the CIMIC doctrine and on the planning and conduct of activities in peace support operations or in more intense scenarios, the selected staff was called to apply the procedures learned through role-playing games, patrols aimed at evaluating the operating environment and tactical acts in support of CIMIC activities.

The practical phase took place at the training areas of the Val Pusteria of the Alpine Troops Command with the support of the 4th AVES Altair regiment and the 6th Alpine regiment which - in addition to deploying the mountaineering instructors to allow the correct conduct of mountain activities - employed its own staff in the practical phases of the exercise both as friendly forces and as "hostile" elements in order to make the training conducted more realistic.

The course was born from the experience gained in the operations in which the Multinational CIMIC Group was called to operate and from the consequent elaboration of the lessons learned which, over the years, have allowed to identify a training process that aims to increase the technical preparation- of the frequenters, with the aim of creating highly qualified professional figures in the panorama of civil-military cooperation.

The course ended with the ceremony of delivery of the certificates by the commander of the MNCG, colonel Luca Vitali, who in his speech wanted to emphasize the importance of this type of training in order to be ready to operate in any context and in any moment is asked.
