"SABER 21" exercise concluded

The “SABER 21” exercise ended in Verona, which saw the 4th “Ranger” parachute alpine regiment engaged for more than two weeks in a winter mountain environment.

The exercise had the purpose of testing and consolidating the Command, Control, Communication and Computer (C4) capabilities, in addition to the conduct of "Full Spectrum" activities of the Special Forces of the 4th Ranger, which have operated together with national and US specialist assets, in a hybrid environment and with a strong multi-domain propensity.

The activity was carried out in compliance with the regulations aimed at limiting the spread of the COVID-19 contagion and saw the deployment of one Special Operations Task Group (SOTG) which has planned the operations of its operational pawns, the Special Operation Task Units (SOTUs). These conducted the exercise activities between the Asiago plateau and Friuli.

During the "SABER 21", in addition to the planning skills of the staff, including elements of the 28th operational communications regiment "Pavia" (PSYOPS) and the 33rd electronic warfare regiment, the indispensable interaction with the assets was trained. rotary wing of the 3rd helicopter regiment for special operations “Aldebaran” (REOS), of the 4th and 5th regiments of the Army Aviation, respectively the “Altair” and the “Rigel”.
