"Mangusta 22" exercise concluded

The "Mangusta 22" exercise, an activity conducted by the "Folgore" parachute brigade between Siena, Pistoia and the Monte Romano (VT) range, ended in recent days.

The exercise, carried out by simulating a typical operational context, had the purpose of training the paratroopers in the planning, preparation and conduct of an airborne operation, aimed at dismantling the enemy unit by creating favorable conditions for the development of the maneuver of the forces friends.

In this context, the "Folgore" brigade trained its units in the conduct of specific area interdiction actions, in order to neutralize profitable targets and counter the development of logistical maneuvers as well as the exercise of the command and control function of the opponent.

Particular importance was also attributed to the achievement of training objectives connected to information research, the defense of the rear, the maintenance of the security of the communication lines and the consolidation of interoperability in the context of the manoeuvre.

The exercise was also attended by units of the 66th airmobile infantry regiment "Trieste", of the 33rd regiment Electronic Warfare, of the 1st "Tuscania" Carabinieri Parachute Regiment, as well as CH-47 and A-129 assets of the 1st Army Aviation Regiment "Antares" and UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) of the 41st "Cordenons" Regiment.
