A few days ago, within the military district of Persano, a continuous multi-armed opposing party exercise conducted by the 4th tank regiment with the support of command, control and logistic assets of other units of the bersaglieri brigade. Garibaldi.
The objective of the exercise was to train the personnel in defensive tactical activities in the environment warfighting through a series of day-to-day maneuvers, carried out without interruption, which saw the personnel first engaged in defensive tasks on poorly organized positions, subsequently in braking positions and, finally, once positioned in the pre-established positions, inside of a strongly organized stronghold in defense with a minefield.
The assets taken from the regiments of the Bersaglieri brigade participated in the activity Garibaldi enucleated by the 1st Bersaglieri Regiment, the Guide Cavalry Regiment (19th), the 8th “Pasubio” Artillery Regiment and the 21st Engineers Regiment.
On the occasion, the commander of the Southern Operative Forces, general of the army corps Giuseppenicola Tota, welcomed by the commander of the Garibaldi Bersaglieri Brigade, Brigadier General Mario Ciorra, visited the 4th Tank Regiment. In particular, after having greeted the Standard and attended an information briefing on the unit, the commander of the COMFOP Sud attended the final stages of the training activity, complimenting the personnel exercised and underlining the importance of the multi-weapon training that the aim of implementing and testing the different tactical procedures.
