The "Capricorn V" exercise, carried out by the 8th Bersaglieri regiment and included in the unit's training cycle, which saw the soldiers practice for three weeks, ended in recent days at the permanent range of Capo Teulada.
The activity falls within the framework of NATO's training commitment for the implementation of the operational capabilities of the units of the member countries in a multi-weapon environment, providing for the combined and simultaneous use of multiple capabilities and expressing the potential to fulfill the complex mission assigned. The objective of the exercise was to test combat capabilities in a simulated operational environment, characterized by an increasing level of complexity between opposing parties.
The "Capricorno V" ended with a final exercise carried out in the presence of the commander of the Southern Operational Forces, general of the army corps Giuseppenicola Tota, with which the "ready for use" was obtained for the units inserted in the basin "JRRF" (Joint Rapid Response Forces), NRI (Nato Readiness Initiative) and EUBG (European Battle Group) which provide for the availability of assets with high and very high operational readiness.
