The fire exercise called "Centauro 2024" conducted by the "Cavalleggeri di Lodi" regiment (15th) has ended, during which the armored car was used Centaur II, the innovative combat platform, technologically advanced, capable of operating in a completely digitalized environment.
The exercise, in addition to testing the mobility and firepower that can be expressed by the new platform intended to equip the line cavalry regiments, had the aim of verifying the perfect integration in terms of digitalisation between units of the brigade Pinerolo, through the conduct of enabling and offensive tactical activities. In fact, the digitalized Command and Control systems supplied to the combat units were used Digitized Media Force (FOMED) equipped with Forza NEC (Network Enabled Capability) systems, capable of monitoring the units employed on the ground, combat vehicles, sensors and effectively supporting command, control, maneuver and intelligence functions, in any condition and in all possible usage scenarios.
The “Cavalleggeri di Lodi” regiment (15th) conducted the multi-weapon minor complex level fire exercise, with the participation of a platoon of the 7th Bersaglieri regiment, two teams of the 11th sapper engineer regiment and assets with systems/ APR UAV (remotely piloted aircraft) sensors.
