"Albo d'Oro" ceremony in memory of those fallen from the first GM

The commander of the terrestrial operational forces, general of corps Roberto Bernardini, last Saturday took part in Udine at the "Albo d'Oro" ceremony representing the army chief of staff.

After the flag-raising ceremony in piazzale XXVI Luglio, in the Ossuary Temple the high officer participated in the deposition of a laurel wreath in memory of the fallen, which was followed by the reading of 180 names of fallen and the delivery of souvenir scrolls to family members .

The event, held in the presence of the President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Mrs Debora Serracchiani, is part of the celebrations scheduled for the centenary of the Great War to emphasize how the Friulian territory is inseparably linked to the First World War.
