General Del Col left the command of the prestigious Unit after almost two years of intense training and operational activity carried out both at home and abroad.
Under its leadership, the Brigade was engaged in the 2014 - April 2015 period in Lebanon in command of the multinational contingent of eleven countries and in charge of the West sector assigned to UN troops.
At the same time the "Pinerolo" Brigade, which 10 May 2014 received honorary citizenship of the city of Bari, continued the implementation of the Army's digitization program, which sees the great First Army Brigade Unit to join and develop in the field , the project "Forza NEC", an ambitious project, extraordinarily innovative, which is the spearhead of the whole program of modernization of the terrestrial component of the Defense.
In Patria he continued to participate in the "Safe Roads" operation in the sectors of Rome, Puglia, Sicily and Calabria, working alongside the police in the fight aimed at preventing organized and environmental crime.
During the last two years the genius component of the Brigade has continued in the remediation of war residues dating back to the 2 World War II in the area of competence of the Southern Adriatic including Puglia, Basilicata, Molise, Calabria and Abruzzo and in particular to the reclamation in the Port of Molfetta. The Foggia Genius Regiment in September 2014 also intervened in the Gargano area flagellated by the flood. Intense and constant was the training of the staff of "Pinerolo" aimed at ensuring full operational capacity and ready for use in the times and places where the Government Authority decides to send the Great Unit.
General Del Col leaves the post to hold a prestigious position at the Central Bodies in Rome.
