Preparation for the Pozzuolo del Friuli

The amalgam camp of the “Pozzuolo del Friuli” cavalry brigade was completed at the permanent shooting range of Capo Teulada in Sardinia, carried out as part of the preparation of units for use abroad.

In addition to the command of the brigade, the following took part in the training activity: the "Serenissima" lagoon regiment, the "Genova Cavalleria" regiment (4th), the 3rd engineering guastatori regiment, the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" logistic regiment and the 11th Broadcasting Regiment.

The exercises conducted during the amalgamation period, shooting with individual and department guns, the shooting school with medium 81 mm and heavy 120 mm mortars, firing platoons with "Centauro" busway, "Spyke" anti-tank missile shooting school, activities of firing by the nuclei of the chosen shooters, have allowed to consolidate the training of the units in anticipation of a future use.

In addition, theoretical and practical lessons related to training were conducted Counter Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED), al cultural awareness focused on the theater of reference, chairs of “Stress Management”, of relations with the media and of a gender perspective.

The training was carried out both during the day and during the night, in order to familiarize with the equipment and means provided, operating in real environments and reacting to situations and events in compliance with the Standardized Tactical Incident Reactions (STIR).

The "Pozzuolo del Friuli" cavalry brigade, commanded by Brigadier General Filippo Gabriele, is the large Army unit called to make assets and skills available for the National Projection Screening Capacity (CNPM).
