A training module carried out between tactical training center (CAT) of Brunico in Alta Val Pusteria and the woods of Etna, aimed at intensifying the ability to live, move and fight in a mountain environment for the personnel of the 62nd "Sicilia" infantry regiment of the "Aosta" brigade.
The activity involved a rotation of the regiment's companies, with the aim of optimizing the troops' ability to operate in areas characterized by particularly harsh climates, implementing the technical-tactical procedures in a mountain environment. The units trained carried out multiple activities with increasing difficulty, which led them to face tactical movements on mountain paths with significant differences in altitude and with overnight stays at high altitude.
The training constituted an essential training moment for the department, allowing personnel to practice in a realistic training scenario, increasing their operational level.
