Yesterday 5 June, the ceremony for the 209th anniversary of the foundation of the Carabinieri was held in the Salvo D'Acquisto barracks in Rome.
The ceremony was attended by the president of the Senate Ignazio La Russa, the president of the Chamber of Deputies Lorenzo Fontana, the president of the council of ministers Giorgia Meloni, the chief of defense staff admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, the general commander of the Arma dei Carabinieri Army Corps General Teo Luzi, civil, military and religious authorities.
The Arma dei Carabinieri celebrates its feast on June 5, the day on which in 1920 the Flag of the Arma was awarded the first Gold Medal of Military Valor for the participation of the carabinieri in the First World War. The solemn anniversary was an occasion to underline the skills and peculiarities of the men and women of the Arma and the tasks of defense and public safety ensured.
