Tension in Korea: Seoul resumes propaganda broadcasts on the border with Pyongyang

South Korea has taken propaganda broadcasts from repositioned speakers close to the borders with North Korea. A decision, the latter, which in the past has been the object of confrontation between the two countries, several times on the brink of a war.

The broadcasts are resumed at 12 (in Seoul). The resumption of cross-border transmissions (which include everything from K-pop to weather forecasts to criticisms of the North Korean government), revives psychological warfare tactics dating back to the 1950-1953. It is as if we had returned to the Korean War.

Last year, following these transmissions, North Korea ordered the suspension of radio transmissions, on pain of an artillery barrage. The agreement found, avoided an armed escalation on the Korean peninsula.

For some hours, the ten mobile radio stations have resumed the "programming".

Still no comment from the Kim Jong-un regime.
