It is said that the authorization was given by Putin himself for the use of a computer program, already tried and tested internally, able to find terrorists. The hackers of Center for Research of Legitimacy and Political Protest they have perfected what they call "The Laplace Demon", a program that automatically detects the accounts used by Islamic terrorists in the state to recruit new members into their group.

Identification takes place in three phases. In the first, the "demon" looks for bank accounts with possible links to the Islamic State and transfers the names to the specialists of the Arab study center in Moscow for a first check. If the "contact" is suspected, the second phase begins. The specialists of Center for Research of Legitimacy and Political Protest, using the citations distorted by the Koran and however typical of the language of the terrorists contained in a database, they send messages in Arabic to the account holders. The answers received are analyzed by a team of sociologists and political scientists. In the third phase, the Russian secret services are also involved, which can order the remote control of the suspect's computer.

If there are no doubts about the electronic identikit created, the third phase ends with the arrest of the alleged terrorist, executed by the Alpha Group, the speculation of Russian anti-terrorism. The use of Specgruppa A would have been specifically requested by Putin, even for all operations that would not require such a high level of education.

Putin's directive is clear: the Laplace Demon must be placed at the service of the Alpha.

Only in the past year, the Islamic State could have recruited around three thousand supporters via the internet. In Russia, according to the Rosfinmonitoring agency, 4407 would be the citizens involved with terrorism, almost double the number of 2826 people identified in the 2014.

The Laplace Demon

The "Laplace Demon" program (inspired by the omniscient demon theorized by the French mathematician Pierre-Simon Laplace) was tested for the first time on May 18 last year, to identify Russian extremist and subversive groups.

Pierre-Simon Laplace, stated that "if an elusive Demon knew the exact position and amount of motion of every single atom in the universe, their past, present and future would be completely predictable and calculable thanks to the laws of classical mechanics".

The predictive system is based on language processing and image analysis. Using statistical models and machine learning, the program generates forecasts about the activity of interest.

The "Demon" is considered more effective than EMBERS or Early Model Based Event Recognition using Surrogates, predictive system funded by the US government and semantic software Archive used by the Russians to monitor blogs and social networks.
