Moscow will be able to start production of a new class of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers starting from 2019. It's what they communicate from RussiaUnited Shipbuilding Corporation.

Certainly, the construction site used for the creation of the new class will be that of Sevmash, in Severodvinsk. The skills acquired in restructuring and modifying the Kiev class “Admiral Gorshkov” aircraft carrier, sold to India, would have conferred the know-how necessary for the realization of the first aircraft carrier after the fall of the Soviet Union.

In reality there is a project presented by the Krylov State Research Center e Nevsky Planning and Design Bureau in the 2015 for a nuclear-powered 100,000-ton carrier. Designated "Shtorm" o 23000E project, it is a super aircraft carrier capable of transporting ninety aircraft. The cost of the first Shtorm (including research and development) could also affect the 12 billion dollars.

Future Russian aircraft carriers will be equipped with electromagnetic catapults (EMALS) and new reactors (under development) capable of producing 300 MW of electricity.
