Russia continues to flex its muscles to the world, unleashing an impressive military apparatus. The forces deployed are superior to the armies of most individual NATO countries.

The Russian Defense Ministry has announced that over 95.000 soldiers and about 7.000 land platforms are taking part in the large-scale strategic exercise in the Central Military District.

The Center-2015 has officially begun - reads on the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense - this is the final phase of the operational and combat training of the Russian armed forces in synergy with the CSTO joint combat training activities (Collective Security Treaty Organization).

The exercise - developed by General Vladimir Zarudnitsky, commander of the DMC - aims to contain an imaginary international armed conflict in the Central Asian region. The Kazakh armed forces will take part in the exercise while the Nicaraguan troops will not participate in the operations.

All projects Center-2015 170 airplanes and 20 warships of the Central Military District, some units of the Caspian Flotilla, airborne troops, Aerospace Defense Forces and other national security organs participate. The exercise, headed by the Chief of Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, General Valeriy Gerasimov, will end next Sunday, 20 September.

The Russians, however, intend to demonstrate to the world that they are able to guarantee an operational presence in various parts of the world. In addition to Center-2015, Moscow kicked off an exercise involving warships and submarines in northwest Russia, off the Kola peninsula. Confirmation comes from the command of the Northern War Fleet. Moscow has deployed the entire power of the Northern War Fleet with fourteen warships, four attack submarines and 10 support ships. The naval component of the Northern Fleet will carry out 20 specific missions on four different platforms. The exercises will continue until the end of the week.

Considering also the five warships in front of the Syrian coasts, the Russians have today in the world in real combat exercises 49 warships, 120 thousand soldiers, 200 planes and at least six submarines. To these numbers, completely official, we must add the units of the fleets ready for combat, such as those of the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea and, finally, the submarines in deterrent patrolling.

Due to the redundancy there should be two (maybe three) Russian patrolling boats. Only the US can afford four "boomers" still sailing.
