The Polish Ministry of Defense has closed the preliminary phase for the acquisition of the MALE systems (medium-altitude long-endurance) that they will equip for the armed forces of the country.
Warsaw will decide between the MQ-9 Reaper and theMQ-1C Gray Eagle (photo) of General Atomics andHermes 900 by Elbit Systems.
The acquisition of remote piloted systems is part of the program Zefir initiated last year by the Polish government for a remote US or Israeli system.
No other detail has been issued by the Ministry of Defense just as the weapon systems, purchased in the second phase of the program, that equip the drones are not known.
The future fleet of the MALE category of Poland will consist of 350 drones.
