At least 70 would be the Syrians in training from the United States passed to the enemy with a lot of military equipment carried on a convoy.
The American strategy in Syria, to train Syrian 5400 a year for a force that should have included actual 15 thousand by the 2017 is now a total failure. To train the first 54 rebels, the Pentagon spent 41,8 million dollars.
The unit, entered for the first time in action last July, today counts 4 or actual 5 (number then retouched to nine). The US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that at least 70 elements participating in the "train-and-equip" program left a training camp in Turkey last weekend to rejoin Syria with the Al-Nusra Front.
"Between the 20 and the 22 last September six trucks with ammunition and equipment were handed over to the terrorists."

Evidently they were wrong from the Pentagon. The new strategy envisages the formation, by US special forces, of JNTAC operators (Joint terminal attack controller) 500 able to coordinate air strikes in the role of Close Air Support directly in the field.
The goal is to provide support to the paramilitary forces already present in Syria such as the YPG, composed of Syrian Kurds active in the north of the country.
