Lo Special Operations Command has successfully tested a new lithium battery system designed specifically for the Navy Seal SDVs. Designed to guarantee a constant flow of energy for underwater propulsion and the primary systems of the SEAL Delivery Vehicle, the new battery has guaranteed autonomy for more than 60 hours. The confirmation comes from a joint note signed by Naval Surface Warfare Center and General atomics.

The batteries will also be able to equip the remotely piloted underwater systems.

"Unlike previous technologies for lithium-ion batteries, this offers greater stability and guarantees the survival of all on-board systems thanks to a thermal management system that prevents cell instability".

The Department of Defense could extend the implementation of the new battery even for all drones in service with the regular armed forces.
