Confirmation comes from the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"According to the Vienna Document, signed in the 2011, a team of Russian experts will conduct a series of inspections in Italy until the next 29 October."
Russian specialists are already in Italy. The Italian government has not yet announced the arrival, but we also know where these inspections will take place: in Sardinia.
The Russians continue. "The inspection, in accordance with the provisions of the trust and security treaties, will have the task of establishing the extent of military activities and whether they are taking place in accordance with the provisions on military intelligence between the Member States. they will also visit the military command of the Trident ”.
There is no mention of their arrival at the 37 ° Stormo of Trapani, but it could be plausible. There Trident Juncture involves 16 military bases and shooting ranges in three NATO countries: Spain, Italy and Portugal. Involved military 36.000, 140 warplanes and up to 90 between submarines and warships from 30 countries (including Austria and Sweden countries that are not part of NATO). The exercise will end on November 6.
