ISIS shows the world its special units "2": there is always a laugh

21/03/15

From abseiling on roads closed to transit, to silent infiltration techniques on a sidewalk. ISIS releases the second video dedicated to its special forces and as happened for the first, it's funny.

These videos should arouse fear and terror in Westerners, but the result is totally opposite. Indeed, in some ways, these videos help the West to stigmatize cutthroats and their horrors perpetrated.

We are at the most unbridled comedy - they comment from the Pentagon - if they were not a plague to be eradicated, we would send someone to train them seriously and avoid these figures. What is noteworthy is the lack of the most basic military training. Scenes that look like a bad copy of a D series action movie shot in the seventies. The full video lasts eight minutes and was shot in an unknown location in the Middle East.

ISIS II: Revenge

The chosen soldiers, before an ecstatic crowd, descend with a rope from a palace. With calm and caution, the commandos manage to reach the ground. Indeed, one of them falls head down, waving the black flag.

In another scene, ISIS special departments use a sort of trunk (it looks more like a public lighting pole), to give the poor "rambo" placed on the end, a sort of jetpack push to overcome the barriers. Too much enthusiasm, though. The soldier, in fact, having reached the end of the wall, is about to lose his balance and ruin the ground.

But to climb over a wall, you can also use an Ak that for the occasion turns into a spring to reach the summit.

Deadly to defeat every western soldier, training on sidewalks. The soldiers are in a row, one behind the other (this staggered position is unknown), while stoically they resist the instructor who walks on their bodies.

But, probably, the most exhilarating scene is the assault on a house (let's not say compound, it would be too much) presumably with hostile forces inside. The assault forces, some of them overweight and in shirt off their pants, with a kick open the gate ... already open. Entering the courtyard is a clear warning for Western special departments: these are not a joke. The troops chosen by ISIS, therefore, ignoring every minimum security procedure, covering and viewing a segment of the area, levied after the heavy tax burst into the courtyard. If someone were really inside the house, he would make a massacre. Shortly after you see a commando who throws a grenade from a window without glass (probably to free up a room or to stun those who were inside), but does not realize that behind him there is another window that gives into the same room and with another soldier who is quietly standing, ignoring every minimum cover for himself and the team.

Traffic stops then and special troops descend from another overpass. Unfortunately one of them is almost entangled and it would have been better to cancel the scene. Obviously, the training of the secret unit takes place in public as it should be.

The comments, for this second video, are wasted. The legend Andy McNab, a pseudonym of the former SAS sergeant captured during the Gulf War, was also disturbed. It is a very funny movie - the former soldier commented - just look at these guys, the way they move and how they handle weapons to reassure regular troops. Please do not disturb our commandos, it is impossible to even make a comparison by reasoning absurdly. However - the former SAS concluded - it is very funny.

In reality, the "deadly battalion shown" is a clear display of strength for the local public. It would be absurd to think that such a video could really terrorize a Western soldier. But the real purpose of these propaganda videos should not be underestimated: to intimidate the local public, demonstrating an obscure as well as invincible force, but at the same time also making themselves attractive to proselytize. A sort of glorification of the tactics and of the chosen soldiers of the Caliphate.

Numerous films have been issued by the Islamic State, but this is the second dedicated to the special departments of the Caliphate. In the first video, specific training to break the deadly ceramic tiles is famous. But those of ISIS love Western cinema and, probably, have also supported the last night of the Oscars for American Sniper. In fact, in the video shown last February, ISIS presented its 'sniper battallion', in a much more threatening video than the previous ones. The images depict soldiers posing with their precision rifles in a location in northern Iraq.

According to Western intelligence, this is a propaganda response to the American film "American Sniper". In the video, snipers are imitated in camouflage, hoods and ski masks to protect themselves from the glare of the sun.

The unit - according to the CIA - is active in northern Iraq, in the Ninewa area. Snipers fought in Syria and Iraq and played a key role in the battle of Kobane, later lost by fundamentalists.

According to ISIS twitter channels, the battalion is inspired by a famous sniper, "Juba", a Sunni insurgent fighting in Baghdad from the 2005, where he is said to have killed 40 American soldiers.

On the web there are also videos called "Juba - The Baghdad Sniper".

To date, the true identity of the sniper is unknown and indeed, it could have been entirely invented for propaganda purposes.
