For the first time in history, on 9 February 2024, the NATO Air Warning and Control Force (Airborne Early Warning and Control Force - NAEW&CF) carried out a mission with an entirely female crew, marking a historic moment.
The flight took place as part of the regular schedule enhanced Vigilance Activities (eVA) of NATO.
The event highlighted the Alliance's commitment to gender equality and inclusion, demonstrating that professional skills are genderless, especially in critical sectors such as defense and security. The initiative, promoted by Women's Initiative Team of NAEW&CF, aims to enhance the contribution of women in fields previously dominated by men, promoting a culture of equality and respect.
