The United States continues to carry out reconnaissance flights in the Baltic region, near the border with Russia, almost every day. This was stated yesterday by the commander-in-chief of the air force, General Viktor Bondarev, to the Russian media in response to Western accusations of unauthorized military flights that seriously endanger civil air transit.

The American RC-135 (photo) - explained Bondarev - carry out reconnaissance flights every day. In the year that has now ended - added the number one of the Russian air force - American spy planes have carried out 135 reconnaissance flights, compared to the twenty-two of the 2013.

Since last January, according to the Russians, the frequency of reconnaissance by the United States and NATO is estimated at eight to twelve weekly flights.

Bondarev noted that the flights are carried out near the Russian border. This allows Westerners to gather valuable information such as civilian traffic management and air defense control.

The commander-in-chief of the Russian aviation concluded the conference by stating that the Swedish reconnaissance aircraft "Gulfstream", "P-3C Orion" German, Danish "Challenger" and Portuguese "Orion" are sighted regularly near Kaliningrad.
