Britain has sent four Eurofighters to the Baltic Typhoon to monitor the air spaces of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania within the mission Baltic Air Policing (BAP). The RAF interceptors have been deployed at the NATO airbase of Amari (EEEI), in Estonia, and are ready to 'scramble' for Quick Reaction Alert (QRA).

"To respond to any aggression directed by Russia, or others," said British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon.

Only in the UK did 17 register Scramble to intercept 40 'zombies' which later proved to be Russian military aircraft.

To the four Typhoon, belonging to the 2.Sqd AC of the Royal Air Force, four F-16 will join Fighting Falcons of the Força Aérea Portuguesa (FAP), which will operate instead from the air base of Siauliai, in Lithuania.

The planes will be operational from tomorrow, 3 May.
