How is it possible that North Korea has put the GAU-19 three-barreled rotating minigun, currently manufactured by General Dynamics, into production?

How did the Pyongyang regime manage to obtain the drawings of the weapon system and start distributing them on the small fast boats of its fleet?

The secret services of South Korea and the United States would be working to discover the real dynamics of the incident. It is confirmed, however, that the 12,7 mm systems designed by General Electric are also in production in North Korea.

The GAU-19 gatling-type machine gun has a rate of fire of 2.000 rounds per minute at an effective range of two km. The North would also be applying to its new ones Littoral Combat Ship, technology stealth in response to the fast patrol boats of the South.

The GAU-19 provides suppressive fire and is also effective against light armored vehicles. Usually equips reconnaissance helicopters and light fixed-wing aircraft.

In addition to the United States, the weapon is used by Colombia, Japan, Mexico and Oman. GAU-19 strengthens the combat capability of North Korean small naval units.
