From four to seven terabytes of data collected by laptops in addition to mobile phones. This is the spoils of the raid carried out in eastern Syria last May 16 by the Delta Force. The Pentagon confirmed that Abu Sayyaf, a prominent figure of ISIS and responsible for all illicit operations connected with the exploitation of oil wells and gas fields, was eliminated during the blitz.

Abu Sayyaf's wife, terrorist Umm Sayyaf, was also captured and taken to a secret CIA base in Iraq.

Sensitive data collected revealed the financial operations and security measures used by Islamic State commanders to avoid being traced by the US-led coalition.

The data obtained in the raid, allowed the identification of another senior official of the organization, Abu Hamid, eliminated the 30 in May with a US air strike.

We know that Baghdadi and its regional officials meet at least once a month. The leaders of the caliphate travel without carrying with them any electronic objects equipped with GPS, in an attempt to escape the countermeasures of US intelligence.

The fundamental role is that of women. To avoid being intercepted, prominent ISIS figures use their wives to communicate. The women, after receiving the message from their husbands, exchange information with each other and then return it to the true recipient.

In this way - they comment from the Pentagon - they never expose themselves, putting their wives at the forefront.

The data collected also revealed the meticulous use of ISIS resources. The 50% of the resources that come from the illicit production of oil, is used to maintain the Islamic state government asset. The remaining 50% is used to maintain production facilities and pay the salaries of the hired specialists to ensure the operation of oil wells.

Every day the picture becomes clearer - the State Department comments to the New York Times - we learn more and more about the organization and the procedures they use.

Meanwhile, the radical Sunni group continues to maintain positions in Syria and Iraq.
