Iraq: completed reconquest of Al Baghdadi, crushed ISIS forces

07/03/15

Iraqi security forces, assisted by the US-led coalition against the Islamic State, managed to recapture the western city of Al Baghdadi. That's what they say from US Central Command.

"The Iraqi security forces and tribal fighters in the Anbar region have eliminated the presence of Isis from Al Baghdadi, taking back the police station and three bridges over the Euphrates river."

The ground forces (at least sixty tanks used between M-1A1 and T-72), were supported by aerial bombardments carried out by the United States. Intelligent missiles were launched in the ISIS command centers around Al Baghdadi and in the armored positions.

In action two battalions of the 'Baghdad Eagles' (the Iraqi special departments trained by the American green caps) supported by Stryker combat vehicles.

Yesterday's was the 26th coalition of the coalition which also carries out surveillance, assistance and support tasks.

Against ISIS, we recall that some of the most lethal special units on the planet have also been deployed.

The Iraqi counteroffensive, went well beyond the conquest of Al Baghdadi, liberating seven villages northwest of the city.

The US-led coalition is made up of more than 60 nations. Air strikes continue unabated in Iraq since last August and in Syria since September.
